We Love Our Volunteers!

Volunteers are key to the success of the Children's Museum of Eau Claire. Individuals and organizations are welcome to volunteer on either a one-time-only or continuing basis. If you are interested in becoming a CMEC volunteer, call us at (715)832-KIDS.

Ongoing Opportunities for Involvement:

Exhibit Floor Volunteer–Exhibit floor volunteers are CMEC's on-site hosts, helping museum visitors get acquainted with the Museum's facilities and exhibits, ensuring the safety of visiting children, and facilitating the Museum's traffic flow.

Birthday Party Volunteer–Do you love a party? If yes, this is the job for you! A volunteer is needed to help with CMEC birthday parties; this job includes decorating the party room, answering questions from the party group, and other hosting-type things.

Field Trip Volunteer–CMEC is a much-sought destination for schools from miles around. A field trip volunteer is responsible for helping these groups by conducting tours, fielding questions, and handling other tasks that will make them feel comfortable and welcome.

Program Volunteer–This volunteer will get to do fun stuff like art projects, puzzles, reading books, science experiments, games, and much, much more with CMEC's visitors in the Activity Room.

Office Volunteer–An office-savvy volunteer would be much appreciated to help with mailings, copying, filing, phone calling, typing, and other '-ing' type office jobs.

Sewing Volunteer–Our museum features several exhibits where children will use costumes to act out their play. The Museum will provide supplies and patterns for the wonderful volunteer who can transform them into these sewn works of art.

Handy-person–Handy-man or woman is needed to help keep CMEC shiny & new! We need volunteers to perform preventative and restorative maintenance on exhibits, build simple components, maybe do a bit of snow removal, and handle other odd jobs.

Fundraising Events–CMEC is involved with various fundraising events throughout the year, such as the Rubber River Turtle Race. If you would like to participate in any event as a volunteer, just let us know.

Artists–Artists are needed to help with touch-ups on the scenic painting in our exhibits.
